You add a unique URL to the end of your cron script. Each time the job runs successfully, it sends a GET request to that URL. If HiveProbe doesn't receive a ping within the expected schedule + grace period, it sends an alert.
The grace period is extra time after the expected schedule before an alert is sent. For example, if a job runs every hour but sometimes takes a few minutes longer, you can set a 5-minute grace period to avoid false alarms.
